ABOUT EVA HERSCOWITZ

A Commitment to Excellence

Born and raised in rural Ohio, Herscowitz knows what it's like to rise from the bottom. After spending her childhood shucking corn on her small Ohio farm, through her own academic merit and perseverance, Herscowitz received a full-tuition merit scholarship to Ohio State University. Throughout college, Herscowitz was intensely involved in the Civil Rights and Women's Rights Movements, even getting arrested at a Civil Rights Protest. After college, Herscowitz, a strong advocate of the free press, achieved her Ph.D in journalism and political science at New York University. A country girl at heart, Herscowitz then moved back to Ohio, where she became the first female Democratic Governor, and spearheaded the creation of a bipartisan caucus that made strides in racial justice, women's rights, and environmental protection.
