An Appeal to North Carolina

North Carolina is known for many famous national parks, but also for much more. It has played a major part in many elections, and has an important voice regarding the direction of the US. Unfortunately, like many other states, North Carolina has several issues that need to be solved. For instance, many North Carolinians worry about the education system, health care, and much more. We hope to turn these obstacles into new opportunities that all the people of North Carolina can benefit from:
Education: As mentioned in our education policy, we want to reinvest in public schools. Currently, the schools in North Carolina do not live up to the standard that the children deserve. Therefore, we want to increase funding in public schools and after-school programs. With this, we hope to improve both student performances, and their experiences at school. Additionally, for those seeking higher education, we will secure tuition free community college.
Health Care: As mentioned on our website, the health care system in the US is of great importance to our campaign. We believe that by implementing universal health care through a public system, the prices would decrease significantly, while covering many more people.
Economy: The economy is one of the most important issues to all Americans. Therefore, we plan to improve the current situation for all North Carolinians as well. Firstly, we want to revamp the tax system entirely. We believe that Keynesian economics would work best for all Americans. Not only does it help the middle class by cutting taxes for them, but it also pushes for lowering taxes on the lower class, so that they have mobility to the middle class. Additionally, we want to promote small businesses by lowering their taxes, because they are currently burdened too much compared to large corporations. Furthermore, we want the large corporations to pay their fair share. This can be achieved by closing corporate loopholes, and by restricting tax havens.
Civil Rights and Liberties: Though a majority is white, North Carolina is one of the most diverse states in the US. Historically, North Carolina has been a huge advocate for civil rights and liberties for minorities in recent decades. We plan to work with several well-known groups to guarantee that all people receive their due rights. More specifically, we want to fight police brutality by cutting it off at its roots. We propose to increase the amount of training for police officers, and demilitarize them as well. Additionally, we want their training to reflect the neighborhoods they have sworn to protect by making sure that know what people live there, and by investing in more local policing.
