An Appeal to Florida

Florida faces numerous environmental problems that pose huge dangers to its citizens. However, there are also social and economic obstacles that must be solved. We hope to turn these struggles into new opportunities for all Floridians.

  • Shoreline Erosion: Due to rising sea levels, the Florida shores are eroding. Thus, to protect this vital environment, we want to enforce building restrictions along the most vulnerable beaches. Additionally, by working with other environmental groups we hope to combat climate change as well. Furthermore, we want to invest more funds into the restoration of the beaches after storms and hurricanes. Lastly, we want to introduce small dikes where necessary to avoid any significant flooding. Ultimately, we hope that with these regulations, the people of Florida can safely enjoy their beaches again.

  • Education: As mentioned in our education policy, we want to reinvest in public schools. Currently, the schools in Florida do not live up to the standard that the children deserve. Therefore, we want to increase funding in public schools, and the schools after-school programs. With this, we hope to improve both student performances, and their experiences at school. Additionally, for those seeking higher education, we will secure tuition free community college.

  • Health Care: As mentioned on our website, the health care system in the US is of great importance to our campaign. We believe that by implementing universal health care through a public system, the prices would decrease significantly, while covering many more people.

  • Natural Disasters: With all the recent hurricanes, we believe that Florida needs to receive greater funds to rebuild itself. Therefore, we will work closely with FEMA to increase its effectiveness, especially following disasters such as Hurricane Harvey. Ultimately, we want the people of Florida to get the much needed and deserved help, so that they can build their homes, and their community again.
